JEFF BECK
Jeff is definitely my biggest all around influence on guitar. Main reason being the fact that over his career, he has never placed any limits on his style or ability.
He's played everything from blues to rock to country to heavy metal. Guested on albums by Mick Jagger, Tina Turner, Jon Bon Jovi, Roger Waters and many more.
His version of 'People Get Ready' with Rod Stewart remains one of my favorite songs of all time and his hauntingly eerie soundtrack to the Vietnam movie 'Frankie's House' shows that the guitar has no limits when it comes to painting a sonic picture with music.
Still the greatist musical moment in my life was seeing Jeff in concert with Stevie Ray Vaughan back in 1989. Just months before Stevie's death. To see the two of them jamming together on 'Going Down' is a priceless memory.
